This is a poem I wrote about a wonderful man,
Who has recently faced depression.
Tough times are hard,
But I know he will get better without question.
He’s not a fancy dresser,
Gym shorts and tennis shoes he will stick to.
He’s a fan of the comfort style,
Not even boxer briefs will do.
He doesn’t belong to a fancy club,
Or drive a shiny car.
And when he does take vacations,
He does not go very far.
He doesn’t dime on fine cuisine,
To him jimmy johns is a treat.
And he may use a plastic fork,
When it comes time to eat.
He has a perfect little house,
But has everything he needs.
He keeps his lawn nice and neat,
And even trims his weeds.
He works long hours at home,
Always helping me with ADT.
He’s the best programmer I know,
And that’s a guarantee.
I may be the biggest dork he’s ever known,
Albeit without me his winters are long.
Even when I’m not around,
I know he is still incredibly strong.
To others he is a simple man,
And his life is not a show.
Fame he has never had,
But he’s the most selfless man I know.
He’s always there for me,
Without his friendship I cannot fathom.
He’s made an impact on my life,
His name is Adam.
I care for you deeply,
And will never disappear.
I’ll always be your friend,
Although I am not near.
You can always call me,
Should you forgo your walks.
I look forward to your phone calls,
And love our hour long talks.
Keep your head up my friend,
Look for that peace within.
Only with this,
Will you ever Winn.
